Dr Tristan Barnes:
General Practitioner specialising in sports medicine, also a medical supervisor and Practice Owner
Tristan is a general practitioner with a special interest in sports medicine and a practice owner. He is an active member of sports medicine Australia (SMA) and is currently a member of the Victorian SMA board. He is also a medical supervisor and enjoys helping to train and educate the next generation of doctors. He worked as an engineer for 7 years in bridge design before making the transition to pursue his true passion of medicine switching from man made systems to biological ones.
Tristan is motivated by the belief that prevention is better than cure, and works on the foundation of lifestyle modification for the prevention and early intervention of chronic disease, and for maintaining good mental health.
His passion is working with patients to not just live longer but to live better, as well as working with athletes to get the most out of their minds and bodies in their chosen sport. Its all about a holistic approach to medicine rather then a one size fits all model.
